Web Hosting..an abused niche?
January 30, 2007
I came across a blog post by Ahmed over at Techsoapbox about web hosting or more accurately web hosting directories and how they really are just a niche that (in his words) has been abused, raped and pillaged.
After doing a search on ‘web hosting directory” on Google he says the top 10 are just ’shill’ sites, and if your wondering what shill means its - “One who poses as a satisfied customer or an enthusiastic gambler to dupe bystanders into participating in a swindle.”, so basically most of the web hosting directories out there are just duping people.
However there are some really good ones out there like Great Hosting Resource that has over 5,000 user reviews of web hosts to help you find that good host you’ve been looking for. They also have guides and articles that are really usefull especially if your on your path for your first ever hosting package, they cover all aspects of hosting - shared, dedicated, vps (Virtual Private server), game server and reseller hosing.

Useless To Use Technorati tags?
January 25, 2007

Is Technorati tags usefull to bring traffic to your blog? i haven’t ever used the Technorati tags plugin for this blog or even other blogs that i owned just because i didn’t feel they would be usefull, i guess my hunch was right as i read today on DailyBlogTips that tags might just be pointless.
I quote:
You can guess that at his point I was getting skeptical about the usefulness of the tags. In order to get a more clear picture of the situation I decided to research about the Top 100 Popular blogs on Technorati, and here is the results I gathered:
* out of the 100 most popular blogs only 7 were using tags in blog posts
* of those who did, 4 were using internal tags (i.e. Tags linking to internal pages)
* only 3 out of 100 were actually using the Technorati Tags (i.e. Linking to Technorati)
Bloggers - Make Money with V7N Contextual Links
January 22, 2007
I was browsing Digital Point Forums when i found a link to yet another site where bloggers can earn some extra cash.
Of course there already services like Text Link Ads, Pay Per Post and Review Me but make room for another - V7N Contextual Linking Service
V7N is already a popular forum for webmasters, bloggers and internet entrepeneurs so i guess it’s only natural that they venture into the paid posting market.
Browsing through their forums and reading some of the posts i begin to understand that the rules for bloggers are a little more relaxed than other posting services, for example there is NO words limits or requirements so basically the length of the post is up to the blogger itself, this is quite good if your a blogger because sometimes posting a 200-300 words post is not your cup of tea.
The other good thing is there are accepting all types of blogs even with a PR of 0, most works require a PR3 but still they are accepting blogs of any PR, good news for some i guess.
The program itself is still new but i think it will work out, so check out V7N Contextual Linking Service today.
*A little Tip: V7N currently havs over $20,000 in orders, so you won’t be sitting around waiting for jobs. ![]()

Google’s new data center will be in North Carolina, according to state officials and the company.
The so-called “server farm” will eventually employ 210 people in a region hit hard in recent years by layoffs in the furniture and textile industries
